Excellent quality British cherries this season… and apricots too!

Fantastic news for cherry and apricot fans this season – this year’s British crop is bigger and juicier than last year.

The superb quality is down to a milder winter and wetter spring which has led to fruit being left to grow on trees for a longer length of time, allowing it to become even sweeter than usual.

I recently spoke with Kent grower Sarah Neaves, packhouse manager for one of Tesco’s biggest cherry suppliers, AR Neaves who are based near Sittingbourne, Kent.
